Bringing a brand to life

Matrix Networks are a leading independent utility infrastructure contractor. Established in 2007 the business has achieved progressive growth by offering a flexible and dedicated service in utility installation for electricity, gas and water.

Matrix initially approached Fogg to support their in house sales and marketing team in the strategic and creative development of their brand and communications activity.

Our starting point with Matrix was to gain a comprehensive understanding of their market and competitors. Through our insight we identified that Matrix had an opportunity to

own the independent space within their market and build a unique proposition to differentiate from the larger corporate organisations through their flexibility, experience, dedication and passion.

Fogg worked with the senior management team to define the proposition and develop a brand message that captured the essence of their business and market. ‘Bringing your development to life’ is now an integral part of the business and is being brought to fruition through all aspects of the businesses culture and communications.

The Process

Once we had defined the brand strategy we needed to align the visual aspects of the brand to the strategic direction. We created three symbols that represent the core aspects of the businesses service and redrew the logo bringing more vibrancy to the identity while referencing the symbols.

We created a unique and engaging visual language that communicates the overall service of the business in a simple and engaging way. We also reinvented the colour palette to truly reflect the ‘life’ aspect of the proposition. The new visual elements offer an approachable feel to the brand, reflecting both the businesses personality and spirit of independence.

The Result

Having established the brand elements we have subsequently rolled the brand out across all stakeholder touch points including the website, marketing communications, internal communications and sales activities. The result has been improved internal and external stakeholder engagement with a clearer and more concise understanding of the business from customers that weren’t aware of Matrix.
